Over at the forum for GRG correspondents I've been trying to find documents as well, but I haven't been successful yet. Useful information: Selma Tuominen was born in Askainen.

I just checked some documents from Askainen and there's actually one Selma born 19.7.1903. Since I've been unable to find her maiden name anywhere I can't be sure if it's right, but some informations from the few interviews and articles seem to match: 1) she was born in a croft or small farm 2) she once mentioned his older brother Ilmari and the Selma born 1903 had also brother Johannes Ilmari - using the second name as a nickname would be nothing very unusual. That's far from anything secure, but maybe a bit promising. The newer documents like marriage record etc. are at the moment not easily available, but I'll think if I can later figure out something to get further with this.
